Problem 1 · the store

The crossed-out prices on the store are stale

A bundle page shows two prices. The crossed-out one should be what the items cost if you buy them one by one. On Sep 17 we lowered the pen prices. The crossed-out prices on the bundles still use the old pen prices. So every bundle looks like a better deal than it is.

Make every bundle an honest 20% off

  1. Now, on your goSet each crossed-out price to what the items cost today, and each bundle price to 20% under it. Two bundles go up (Steel-Tastic Duo, Stainless Steel Set). The aluminum duos and sets come down until Oct 12. The Titanium Duo and the Carbon-Prime Duo move by cents or a dollar or two.
  2. Oct 12, with the aluminum move to $39.99The aluminum duos and sets step up with it (Sleek Duo $63.98, Aluminum Set $44.78). Nothing else moves.

Money: on the last 61 days of bundle sales, the rule at today's pen prices would have cost about $85 of profit (the aluminum dip), and from Oct 12 it adds about $31. Bundles are about 1% of store sales. This fix is about honest pricing, not money.
Problem 2 · Whatnot

Whatnot full prices are stale too, and most deals sit under the floor

Each Whatnot bundle has a full price. You set a % off in Seller Hub. The full price should be what the items cost one by one at today's prices. 10 of the 12 regular bundles still use the old prices.

The floor is the lowest price we agreed to sell each pen for on the live sheet, added up, plus ink at half price. A deal should not go under it. 10 of the 14 deals set on Aug 30 are under today's floor. Two of them by under $2, the Slim Rainbow by your choice.

Fix 2 · Whatnot

Update the full prices, then re-set the % in Seller Hub the same day

  1. You say go and pick a day.
  2. I set the 10 full prices in Shopify. That is what Whatnot reads.
  3. You re-apply the % in Seller Hub that same day. A Shopify edit can reset the sale on Whatnot. That is why your step follows mine right away.
  4. Oct 12, aluminum to $39.99: we repeat it for the bundles with aluminum pens.
At the proposal the seven regular on-air bundles earn $8.02 to $41.43 a box. Today they earn $1.61 to $35.57. Every one of the seven deal prices goes up, none goes under the floor.

Two judgment calls

All-aluminum duos (All-Black, Purple + Slim Black) 40% off = $47.38or 45% off = $43.43

At 40% the box costs only $1.61 less than the three items bought one by one at your hammer prices. 45% is $1.07 under the floor. Either one beats the $30 launch price by a lot.

Titanium Duo 20% off = $100.78or stay at 25% off = $94.48

25% is $1.52 under today's floor because both Titanium pens are firm now. Since Aug 30 it sold 8 boxes at an average of $93.03.

Pen + Ink Starter retire itor 40% off = $26.39
